AMPC calls for measures to prevent fires in waste depots

The required measures include inspections and increased monitoring to identify potential fire sites; the establishment of guards and patrols, especially during high - risk hours (mday, afternoon); creation of generations cleansed around warehouses; the provision of tools for rapid intervention; including water and fire equipment; the sensitivity of citizens to avoid throwing light or dangerous materials near warehouses; the deployment of water tanks and professional storage facilities within the perimeter.

Meanwhile, in terms of the effects of burning urban waste, environmental damage to the AMPC is: air pollution from toxic gases; water and land pollution from heavy metals derived from burned ash; negative impact on biodiversity.

The AMPC has also mentioned health risks such as respiratory diseases, cardiovascular problems, risk of exposure to dioxins and cancerous substances, damage to the nervous system, especially to children, hormone disorders, and problems in the reproductive system.
