An embassy spokesman added that, in addition, the political stalemate that has included the country is delaying progress towards Kosovo aspirations and is jeopardising the integrity of its institutions.
This ongoing impasse is delaying progress in Kosovo's future aspirations and risking the integrity of institutions for which the people of Kosovo fought so hard to create. We call on political leaders to take their responsibilities seriously and work together to reach an agreement on constitutionalisation of the Parliament, meaning electing a chairman and deputy chairman. They must use the coming weeks to find a way forward that ensures a sustainable leadership in accordance with the Constitution. Political leaders must not rely on the Constitutional Court to regulate a political impasse that only they can solve. The people of Kosovo expect their leaders to fulfill their commitment to work in the country's best interest”, the Embassy's response to Klakosova.tv said.
In the meantime, even after 55 sessions, the formation of the new Kosovo Assembly legislature has not been reached.
After completing the 30-day constitutional deadline, the Constitutional Court has banned any action by MPs due to the election of the Speaker and Speakership of the Parliament. /Periscope/
