On the night of July 7th, a serious event took place in the town of Lipjan, where 27-year-old Agon Zejnullah lost his life after a police intervention. According to the Kosovo Police, the event took place around 00:15, when Zejnullah allegedly was attacking passersby on the “Haradin Bajrami” in Lipjan.
After the citizens called, police units have intervened by arresting him. During the intervention, handcuffs were imposed on him. Police report that in spite of the medical team's efforts, the 27-year-old changed his life at the scene.
Immediately after the event, Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK) launched investigations and recommended the suspension of five police officials involved in the case. Officials for whom the suspension measure is recommended include a sergeant and four patrol officers.
The same is later under the order of the Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina, and against the same has been set the 48-hour ban, while investigations are under way for criminal work “murders by carelessness”.
The IPK has announced that the records of the security cameras and the evidence of those present are under consideration to clarify the circumstances of death.
Meanwhile, members of the victim have raised doubts about overuse of police force. The brother of the late, Alban Zamenu, has declared to the media that the state's “has killed us”, demanding justice and full investigation of the case.

According to him, for the death of the brother, they heard versions like “infart and the influence of alcohol...”, but he says that <x2 is clearly seen as being killed by the state hand, by some policemen...”.
And one of the emergency doctors who intervened at the scene has told the media of shocking details.
We had a call from the police station, the clock was 12 after midnight. We were told there were drunk people. When we arrived, we saw that one of them was without signs of life lying near a policeman. He was still handcuffed. We requested that the cuffs be removed because he was unconscious, but the first aid was unsuccessful. We notified the police that there should be an alert to forensics,” she said.
According to her, the medical staff was not reportedly referring to a person in serious condition or without signs of life.
The case has triggered numerous reactions to public opinion. The autopsy report is expected to shed light on the real causes of the 27-year-old death. /Telegraphy/
