Kurti, while meeting the Government, said that the “public executions being made and the public judgments being handed out are especially difficult for the Zejrullahah family and friends of the late”.
His death has shocked us all. Much of what happened between the night of July 7th is already public thanks to witness records.
But to understand everything that happened requires professional investigation by the institution. There is co-operation between the Kosovo Police, the Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK) and the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML) and the Prosecutor's Office is essential. Five police officials are now in my custody. I seek and expect deep and as quickly as dawning the full truth and I make all the circumstances known so that justice can be established and accountability reached I want to make clear that there will be no shelter in institutions for anyone who may have overstepped the competencies or violated the law. The uniform service is noble, but the authority is head”.
The ongoing public differences and the public judgments being rendered are especially difficult for the Zejnullahi family and friends of the deceased. At the same time, the tendency to launch an antifushare against the police is harmful and is not a solution. Calls for justice are fair, but they are best realised with full results of investigations and a professional verdict. Only then can we make sure that institutional accountability is answered for the occasion and guarantees that similar situations never replay us, Kurti said, among other things.
