She has said this is a case that overshadows citizens' trust in security institutions.
“As an MP, I cannot silence this disturbing phenomenon of police violence that is repeatedly and alarmingly emerging. I ask the Police Inspector and Prosecutor to conduct a thorough, quick and independent investigation, and I expect those responsible to be held accountable without exception”, she wrote among other things.
“Police must be guaranteed of order and security, not factor fear and violence. Any legal offense on its part is direct damage to democracy and rule of law”, writes Deliu-Codra on Facebook, Periscope.
Response:
With deep shock and deep concern, I have followed the tragic death of 27-year-old Agon Zajundu during the police intervention in Lipjan. This is another case that casts heavy shadow on our faith in security institutions.
The most sincere condolences are directed to the family of the deceased, who is paying the highest price for failing the system to guarantee the safety and dignity of citizens.
As an MP, I cannot silence this disturbing phenomenon of police violence that is emerging repeatedly and alarmingly. I ask the Police Inspector and Prosecutor to conduct full, quick and independent investigations, and I expect those responsible to be held accountable without exception.
Police must be guaranteed of order and security, not a factor of fear and violence. Any legal offense on its part is direct damage to democracy and the rule of law.
It is unacceptable to repeat these cases and treat them as “cident” isolated. I seek deep reform in the security system, with strong surveillance mechanisms and professional training guaranteeing respect for human rights.
