The 27-year-old death in Lipjan completed hearings against five policemen

The preliminary procedure judge is expected to decide on the State Prosecutor's request whether to bring police officials into custody, or set an alternative measure.

At the hearing, neither the family attorney nor the media were allowed to attend.

Otherwise, the five police officials are in the range of the ban for 48 hours, and hearing sessions will be held today.

Kosovo police have detailed the case of a 27-year-old man in Lipjan, who lost his life after the intervention of police officials.

According to the official announcement, on July 7th around 00:12, police had accepted six calls from different citizens, reporting for a person with aggressive behaviour on the “Bajrami” street in Lipjan.

According to them, the person in question posed general danger to passersby, after attacking them, following vehicles, and trying to get into them.

The police units reacted immediately and, according to the police, even in their presence the person continued with uncontrollable and dangerous behavior”.

Police reported that, due to active resistance and attempted attack on officials, protection spray had been used to neutralise it.

According to police, prior to the arrest, police officials had attempted for about five to six minutes to communicate and negotiate with the young man to convince him to associate with the police station.
