Flight 3612 of Delta Connection, operated by SkyWest Airlines, was forced to divert to Aeva East Airport in Cedar Rapids, Ayva, according to CNN.
As reported by American media, Mario Nikprelaj, 23, of Nebraska, as identified, allegedly had previously argued with a flying assistant and had tried to open an emergency exit door.
On July 17th 2025, approximately 6:13 p.m., Cedar Rapids police were sent to the East Airport of Arava following a concern during a passenger flight to SkyWest from Omaha to Detroit”, said the Cedar Rapids Police Department on Facebook.
Nikprelaj was sent to the Linn County Correcting Centre and charged with disorderly conduct, assault, possession of prescription drugs and first-instance harassment, on other charges not ruled out.
The plane eventually landed at its destination in Detroit, nearly an hour and a half later than planned, according to Flight Age. /Periscopi/
