The situation with fires in Kosovo continues to be disturbing.
According to the recent announcement by the Agency for Emergency Management (AME), there are currently 15 active fire sites on open field and mountainous surfaces in several municipalities in the country.
AME reports that fires have spread to various municipalities such as Mitrovica, Skenderaj, Ferizaj, Gjakova, Kline, Leposaviq, Podujevo and Novoberda.
The situation is more severe in the town of Lausa, Squire Town.
“was interviewed by the Professional Fire and Rescue Unit (NJPZSH) and Kosovo Police Skenderaj, as long as emergency Management Agency is provided with assistance from helicopter air from KFOR's capacity,” said in the announcement.
In the municipality of Kline, in the village of Wymir, fire is active in difficult mountain parts for land access, while four active fires have been recorded in the villages of Batlava, Bellosh and Hurtica.
From the preliminary day, on July 07th, some of the biggest fires have been located in Malisheva, Entrance and Podujevo. However, the risk remains high and the situation is on constant monitoring by authorities”, said the AME's announcement.
The agency has said that there is no loss of lives until material damage is evident.
The AME appeals to citizens to avoid lighting fires in open environments, immediately report each suspected hearth to free emergency numbers: 112, 193, 192, and report each person suspected of triggering fires.
