This process, which includes big businesses, according to the ZRE, represents an important step with which it aims to have tangible benefits for consumers through increased competition among suppliers.
In their communiqué, the ZRE has invited all qualified consumers to the free market, which have not yet chosen their supplier, to take the necessary action to find it according to their needs.
Those who do not choose, ZRE says they go automatically to the Last possible supplier, but this should be a temporary solution, since after 60 days, as they say in the communique, a supplier should be selected.
Full communication:
The Energy Regulatory Office announces public opinion and all consumers of electricity in the Republic of Kosovo that the continuation of electricity market liberalisation has successfully begun.
This process represents an important and long-awaited step towards building an open, competitive and transparent market, which will provide more opportunities for consumers to freely select their electricity supplier. Market liberalisation aims to bring tangible benefits to consumers through increased competition among suppliers, improved quality of service, and created favourable conditions for transparent prices and free market principles. This is an essential step towards meeting European standards and the full integration of Kosovo's energy market in the regional and European market.
The ZERC invites all qualified consumers to the free market, which have not yet selected their electricity supplier, to take the necessary action to find the most suitable supplier according to their needs and the most favourable conditions the market offers. Each of these consumers is obliged to freely select their suppliers on the open market, based on offers that match individual consumption profiles and requirements.
Consumers who remain without suppliers automatically pass to the Last Options provider (FMF), but Z The RRI points out that staying with the FMF is a last resort for guaranteed supply, and that this supply does not represent a sustainable solution, nor convenient conditions for consumers. The Last possible supplier should be seen as a temporary solution until selecting a consumer supplier, which lasts no more than 60 days. Z The RHR, influencing that, for all consumers being supplied by the Last possible supplier, energy is provided through the Albanian stock exchange (APLEX).
To facilitate this process, Z. RRE has published on the official website www.ero-x.org the list of licensed electricity suppliers and has provided practical guidelines for the mode of supply selecting, along with information on consumer rights and obligations in the liberalised market.
THE ER remains committed to providing a fair, functional and consumer-service market, continuing engagement for active monitoring, regular information and protection of the final consumer's interest./Periscopi/
