The official causes of the death of three little sisters who were found dead after they disappeared while visiting their father are said to have been discovered.
Paityn Decker, 9, Evelyn Decker, 8, and Olivia Decker, 5, who were last seen on May 30th and found dead on Monday, June 2nd, likely died of asphyxia, according to a preliminary report presented at the Chelan County High Court, Fox 13 setsle reported.
This update comes as authorities continue searching for the girls' father, 32-year-old Travis Decker, according to People.
The Wenatchee Police Department confirmed that the girls were found dead Monday, on June 2nd, after investigators found the 2017 GMC Sierra white truck near the Rock Island Camp in Chelan County, although Decker himself could not be found. The police did not give them the causes of the death of the girls or the exact location where their bodies were found at the time.
Decker has recently been charged with three counts of first degree murder and one count of kidnapping, according to police. He is currently facing charges of intervention in custody. The “is not known if Decker is currently armed, but he could pose a considerable risk if they approach”, police said, adding that the father has previous military experience.
Fox 13 Seattle reported that Decker's vehicle was found “with two traces of blood hand” near where girls' bodies were located. Various personal items, including blankets, food, car seats and a wallet, were reportedly found. A tent and a refrigerator were also found “in a short distance from”, showing signs of recent activity in the camp, according to the media.
Court documents obtained by Fox 13 Seattle also reportedly claimed that Decker's mobile phone activity indicated that “ai drove to the same camp and left the day before the kidnapping”.
