In a post on the X platform, it says the EU is following developments in the Middle East with concern.
“I reiterated our commitment to peace, stability and diplomatic efforts leading to reduced tensions. In this context, I underlined that Israel has the right to defend itself. Iran is the main source of regional instability.
Europe has always been clear: Iran can never have a nuclear weapon. There is an urgent need for a negotiated solution.
We have repeatedly expressed strong concerns about Iran's nuclear and ballistic programmes the same missiles that hit cities indiscriminately not only in Israel but also in Ukraine”, the EC-Natanyah president has told.
She further found that it was discussed in Gaza. “We also discussed Gaza. The humanitarian situation in Gaza is unacceptable. I repeated our urgent call to allow all humanitarian aid to reach civilians in need immediately.
Resumption and immediate release of hostages so that a permanent end of hostilities can be finally reached”, von der Leenen stressed. /Periscope/
