The incumbent government has been called on for this declaration to be taken seriously and as “relection” for engagement in the quick formation of institutions.
Former Kosovo chief negotiator Avni Arifi has said in a proposal for Periscope that all processes in the Balkans have succeeded only when the US has taken a leading role.
Not only Kosovo but all processes in the Balkans have succeeded only when the US has taken the lead since Yugoslavia's breakup. This is the reality... ”, Arifi said of Periscope.
Arifi said the damages for Kosovo will be great if the topic of forming domestic institutions becomes party and populist.
Kosovo if it was the right way not only would it urgently have to create institutions but I have to start internal inter-party dialogue so that in this process we can have common positions and unity. One sure knows that whenever Kosovo allows this topic to become a party subject and the population damage will be catastrophic for Kosovo.”, the former diplomat said.
He added that in addition to the crisis with the lack of institutions, Kosovo has been degraded in the negotiation process, with sanctions under it, it will not change if Kurti continues to be prime minister.
Kosovo is in serious problems because it not only does not have institutions but is guided by a mindset which in the past four years has degraded Kosovo's negotiating position. We're in sanctions, and in the position of defans and that's not expected to change while Kurt is prime minister. ”- he stressed.
Even analyst Halil Matoshi has said Trump will close the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue issue, turning Kosovo's de facto recognition of Serbia to the table.
President Donald Trump, I believe, will close the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue issue, re-entering Kosovo's de facto recognition table from Serbia. We'll have a combination of elements from Washington's vows, plus Association from the Franco-German” Plan, Matoshi said of Periscope.
Trump wrote on Sunday in Social Truth that during his first presidential mandate, Kosovo and Serbia were “heading towards a severe crash” and was about to explode a war, but added that he stopped it, accusing his successor, former President Joe Biden, that the “has damaged the long-term perspective with some very meaningless decisions, but I will fix it again,”.
“During my first term, Serbia and Kosovo were facing strongly, as they have for decades, and this long conflict was about to explode at LUFU”, he said.
We remember that during the past term of Trump in 2020, Kosovo and Serbia reached the White House an agreement on economic normalisation. This agreement, which included recognition of Kosovo's independence from Israel, has not been fully implemented./Albina Zariqi - PERISCOP/
