Donald Trump said on Saturday that his relationship with the renowned billionaire donor, Elon Musk, has ended, warning that there will be serious “consequences” if Musk continues to support the democratic candidates who challenge the republicans who support the president's sweeping tax bill and spending.
In a phone interview for NBC News, Trump explained the situation, saying there was no discussion of any investigation into Musk, but hinted there would be consequences for his actions, without providing more details.
I would assume that yes, the relationship is over,” said Trump, confirming the end of co-operation with Tesla and SpaceX CEO. When asked if there were any opportunities to repair the relationship, Trump was cut: “I'm not going to talk to him. ”
However, Trump clarified that he is not planning to cut off US government contracts with Musk companies such as Starlink and SpaceX, who have had contact with the White House for various operations, including delivery of satellite services and launching missiles.
Tensions between Trump and Musk intensified this week after Musk criticised the Trump bill as a disgusting “ ” and rejected efforts to approve it in Congress. This has made it harder to try the Trump administration to pass the law in a Congress where the Republicans hold a narrow majority in the House of Representatives and Senate. /Periksopi
