US President Donald Trump has said that an agreement with China “has been reached” after two days of talks between senior officials in London.
Trump said that, depending on final approval by President Xi Jinping and he himself, the United States will receive the rare land metals they need, while Chinese students can take their seats in American colleges.
Previously, the US and China said they had agreed in principle to a framework for reducing trade tensions between the world's two largest economies.
Last month, Washington and Beijing agreed to a temporary ceasefire on trade tariffs, but each country has accused the other of violating the agreement.
