The agents have issued tear gas and pepper spray, while protesters have stoned and cemented Border Patrol vehicles.
A union leader has been arrested during the protest and charged with obstructing law enforcement.

The White House has said Trump will engage the Guard to address the “illegality that has been allowed to deteriorate”.
California Governor, Democrat Gavin Newsom, has said through a post on the social network X that the decision will only escalate tensions.
