Totaj: Prizren League inspired our independence, freedom, and very existence as a people

Prizren's chairman, Shacir Totaj, has stressed the historic importance of June 10th, naming the date more than just an anniversary.

“Today we are not just here to commemorate a date, we are here to remember the oath of the Albanian League of Prizren. June 10, 1878 the nation's men gathered in this city, to tell the world we are Albanians, we have our land, our language, our culture, and we refuse to break up. They had neither international support nor modern resources but had national answers and the courage to act. It was an event that preceded and inspired our independence, freedom, and very existence as a people in this part of Europe”, Totaj said, reports EO, broadcast Periscope. /Periscope/
