About 24 thousand middle-class students, throughout Kosovo, will undergo the achievement test this Friday. Officials from the Ministry of Education have told Radio Kosovo that they are committed to over 1500 ministers and that they will take steps in cases where there will be proven cheating by students. Educators, meanwhile, say the importance of this test is fading, as a result of the copies that occur.
The students of the ninth classes throughout Kosovo, tomorrow, will undergo the arrival test, for which all preparations have been made. The head of the MANT Rating Division, Fatmir Elez, has told Radio Kosovo, the number of students to be tested, as well as other details about testing.
“In the nine-grader-grader-grader test are about 24 thousand students distributed in 170 testing centres, with a thousand and 550 employees engaged. This year, testing is only organised in one day, for all subjects. The achievement test is orientation, the results serve as a census in the tenth grade and there is no threshold for calysity”, he said.
Asked about preventative measures against copying in the test, Elez has said he will take care of it as well.
“From last year we started distributing students via e-kosova platform, where students of the same class are no longer in the same testing room. This year, in the senior test, there have been several cases where students have used the phone, but about 80 students have been excluded from testing as a result of the use of the telephone. Even nine-graders will have commission supervision and hope there will be no escape from testing due to the use of mobile phones”, he said.
Education Diaries, Youth Qehaja from Institute “EdGard” claims that the probability test has great significance for students' future, so it also asked for management of the process.
A good test management is essential, since it guarantees us a merit filter of students for switching from ninth grade to tenth. On the contrary, with these manipulations and abuses taking place and cheating on the probability test, its weight is not only getting dim, it's also becoming an unfair test that is not a reactensive of the true knowledge of the sematutes”, he said.
According to the Ministry of Education, the results of the arrival test for ninth-grade students are expected to be announced by 5 July. /Periscopi/
