MPs from the Kosovo Assembly will gather today in the 34th attempt, in an effort to forge the Parliament. The process is stuck in the choice of Chief Parliamentary. The winning party, the Vetevendosje Movement, has proposed Albulen Haxhiun, which from other parties is considered a divisive figure.
Vetevendosje is not giving up its name. In neither of the votes for it, Haxhiu has received enough votes .61.
From April 15th, when the constitutional sessions began, 29 of them have so far failed. Even at today's session, the 30th in a row has no signal of a way out of the stalemate created for two months now.
The country's president, Vjosa Osmani, has decided to take another step to seek solutions for the stalemate in which the country has entered. It is expected to address the Constitutional Court with a view to clarifying the legal possibilities for overcoming the current situation.
The president has so far held two consultative meetings with political party leaders, originally on May 15th and recently on the issue of organising local elections.
It has reiterated its readiness to hold separate meetings with any political leaders that have an interest in discussing the Assembly's institution.
It has already been held over four months when Kosovo has held parliamentary elections, in which Vetevendosje came out the first party, followed by PDK, LDK and AAK- NISMA.
