The specialist at the Family Medicine Centre (QKMF) in Pristina, Rush Ismajli, in an interview for Online Economy, noted that after a cold May, the rapid rise in temperatures in June has caused difficulties in adopting citizens.
We've been through a period of very low temperatures. May has been at low temperatures, and then in June, temperatures rose. There have been difficulties in adapting people to these temperatures, and we immediately find that some people have only been burned. All they have to do is first avoid the peak of the day between 10:00 and 5:00, because at this time the temperatures are high. It could cause dehydration, skin burns, which is a threat to skin cancer”, Ismajli said.
Ishmael recommends consuming at least two liters of water a day and a healthy diet of fresh trees and vegetables.
What I would advise citizens, all age groups, especially pregnant women, young children and elderly people, to avoid getting out in broad daylight, consume enough water, at least two liters a day, expected temperatures to rise. What we recommend is that they take care to avoid high temperatures. We've had cases, but we've managed them and advised them to wear bright and light coloured clothing, as well as to wear hat”, he added.
Dr. Ishmael also highlights diet.
