Tahiri: Serbia knows it has lost Kosovo but stops fighting, we need alliance with US, EU

The AAK's top official, Besnik Tahiri, on the occasion of June 12th, has said that for Kosovo the greatest danger is the stagnation in a status quo”. Tahiri in a post in his profile writes that it is in the hands of Kosovars if Kosovo becomes a functional, powerful state [...]
Tahiri in a post in his profile writes that it is in the hands of Kosovars whether Kosovo will become a functional state, economically powerful, militarily secure and a member of the EU and NATO.
If we are to understand that the national union can happen through Brussels, then we can be a nation with two votes on European tables, we need to know what we want and how to get there”, he says, Express reports.
Politicians Tahiri, who has been active for more than two decades, says Serbia knows it has lost Kosovo, but has given up trying to sabotage it, undermine it and weaken it from within.
“Therefore, alliances with the US remain vital, but also with European countries taking on an increasingly large role”, Tahiri wrote away.
He considers the status quo a national risk, and any movement that preserves and strengthens the state of Kosovo could be part of a strategy for the integration of Kosovo Albanians and Albanian into the EU.
According to Tahiri, the four pillars of the next decade are energy, economy, education and Europe, and that more vision, knowledge and dedication should be invested in these areas.
“Today, more than ever, we must not forget the legacy of our martyrs, who gave their lives, not for personal interests or riches, but for Kosovo to become free, that the word “Lyri” understood as right and not as control” has written Tahiri.

Kosovo's Quo statue is our national danger.
Today, 26 years later, together with Colonel Chris Warren, the senior British officer who once led elite units of the United Kingdom, we visited areas where we first entered the British Army on the free territory of Kosovo on June 12, 1999.
We were at Elez Han's tunnel, on the bridge where the helicopters landed, going to Suhadol and Magur in Lipjan. In these countries since the first day, we damaged mined areas, disarmed Milosevic's police and started contacting the first free citizens after decades of oppression. We met former KLA soldiers, excited citizens, proud of freedom won. It was the day when we witnessed the historic change taking place.
There is much to say for June 12, 1999, about the glory of that day, about its historical effects, but above all about the meaning it carries.
According to my assessment, on June 12, 1999, Kosovo actually gained independence. That day, our country's centuries-long conquest ended and a new horizon for the Albanian dream opened. It was the day when the greatest union of Albanians with the democratic world took place, to stop genocide and to give hope to our people.
For me, June 12th and February 17th are the most important dates in the modern history of Albanians, perhaps even bigger than the 28th itself. November 1912, because they brought not only symbolic pronouncements but real change of life and fate of a people.
But today, 26 years later, the question is, How much have we fulfilled the trust of that day?
Because the way we will materialize and deepen the June 12th victory already depends only on us.
If Kosovo becomes a functional state, economically powerful, militarily secure, and a NATO and EU member, this is in our hands. If we are to understand that the national union can happen through Brussels, then we can be a two-vote nation on European tables, just know what we want and how to get there.
On this day, we must tell three clear truths:
1. Serbia knows it has lost Kosovo, but has not given up trying to sabotage it, undermine it and weaken it from within. Therefore, alliances with the US remain vital, but also with European countries taking on an increasingly large role.
2. Kosovo's status quo is national danger. Any compromise that preserves and strengthens our citizenship may be part of a major strategy for the European integration of Albanians in Kosovo and Albania.
3. The next four pillars of the decade are energy, economy, education and Europe. It requires more vision, knowledge and commitment.
Today, more than ever, we should not forget the trust of our martyrs, who gave their lives not for personal interests or riches, but for Kosovo to become free, so that the word “Leri” is understood as right and not as control.
Glory to the fallen for freedom!
Happy 26th anniversary of the Kosovo Liberation!
