The Constitutional Court has spoken clearly: the decision to establish the Commission for Secret Vote at the constitutional session was unconstitutional.
This is an important act that halts a dangerous constitutional deviation and confirms that parliamentary procedures cannot be used as political blockades.
Since April 15th, the constitution was initially blocked by the failure of the largest parliamentary group to elect their candidate for Parliamentary Speaker, and then, from April 30th, through the insistence of an unconstitutional proposal that prevented the continuation of the constitutional session.
In my quality as MP, I have delivered supportive comments in this case to protect constitutional order and to stop the instrumentising of the Parliament's rules by a group that does not have votes, but seeks to hold institutions hostage.
The court confirmed that:
1. The agenda of the constitutional session cannot be changed according to political whims;
2. No one has the right to vote secretly without constitutional basis and without procedure;
3. The right to propose the Speaker of the Parliament cannot be transformed into a blocker mechanism;
4. The largest parliamentary group has the obligation to co-operate with other groups through political compromise;
5. The congregation must be constitutionalized within 30 days by the release of the law;
In this battle, we have stood up for the Constitution and proved that parliamentary democracy is nobody's property.
The constitutional order triumphed and with it the will for functional institutions, not the hostage of a single party.
