On International Children's Day, the survivor of the Pockle massacre, Elhame Muqolli, has addressed an open letter to the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
The mill wants murdered children not to be just unknown numbers.
She wrote that on the day when the world costs children's joy and rights, she feels deep pain for thousands of children who were killed during the war in Kosovo.
Adding that even today, 26 years later, they have no names in institutional memory, and often they are not even mentioned.
I'm one of the survivors. I was only 14 when the Poklek massacre occurred. On that dark day, 53 civilians were killed, among them 24 children. They were burned alive. Many were younger than I was (from six months of age). I saved only because I managed to jump out the window. My whole life has been associated with that terrible memory, which will never leave me”, Muqolli wrote./Periscopi/
