Haziri has written that Kosovo's ties with Messiqi had made former President Ibrahim Rugova in the early 1990s and has remembered his talks with Mesic when negotiations on Kosovo's final status had taken place.
Haziri's full announcement:
Welcome to the Rugovists' House in Gjilan
After Albanian President Bajram Begaj, we are happy that, with the initiative of the LDK Council Group and the Head of the Assembly of the Communists, Croatia's historic president, Stjepan Mesiı, was proclaimed today honourary Citizens of Gjilan.
This is a great honor for Gjilan and Anamorva.
Mesic's relationship with Kosovo made him the founding father of the Republic of Kosovo -- historic President Ibrahim Rugova -- since early 90th.
For the first time, I have met with President Fatmir Sejdiu in negotiations on Kosovo's final status, and I am forever grateful for support and advice so that we can capitalise on this historic process.
Gjilan needs the care of friends, who are growing more and more every day under the care of LDK. Not just friends, but jailers of Gjilan and Citizenship!
