While Kosovo Business Alliance Chairman Agim Sahini said that through the protest they intend to show businesses have been hit deeply. He added that companies are failing to afford the price of electricity.
This is the request of the business community, the 1,300 companies that have been affected, over 143 thousand workers... Let's show once again that we've been hit deep, the manufacturers' businesses can't afford this expensive electricity, nobody's against the open market, but in shape and way. The main requirement is to have the prolongation of this decision so businesses can be prepared”, Sahin said.
Arrian Zeka of the American Economic Oda said two businesses were closed and 300 people were employed in one of them.
All of us are informed of two factories which are owned by foreign investors or have mixed capital are closed. Ilir Ibrahimi said that at today's meeting some businesses have declared they are considering closing.
“Already watching the consequences, factories are closing, we have two factories that are closed in one municipality, we had several statements at the meeting with 400 businesses who were declared to be considering closing their factories. So the situation is very serious, we are ahead of the closure of the factories in this country, factories that were founded very hard and there is no response from the government yet, this is unacceptable”, Ibrahim said.
