Stalled Assembly, Deputies Break in Question

Despite the Constitutional Court's act, there was no change on Sunday as far as political party positions were concerned.

Political officials have stiffened the charges against each other, saying the Constitution is being violated.

And although the country is in an extraordinary political situation, elected MPs seem to not make even the slightest effort to get the country out of this situation, considering that the Parliament's spring session is now over.

In the official calendar of the work of the Kosovo Parliament, the spring session ends on July 31st, the telegraph reads.

This is the first time this session finds the Kosovo Assembly unconstitutiond, and in the absence of this MPs are not expected to have the usual holiday until autumn.

According to Article 66 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, Kosovo's Assembly is elected by a four-year term, starting on the day of the constitutional session, which began on April 15th 2025, but is not finished. Referenced to Article 12, paragraph 5 of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo: “Constituent Space ends with the election of the Speaker and Vice President of the Parliament.

From the legislative institution's media directorate, they have shown how the regulation envisions the two working sessions within the year.

“1. The Assembly holds work at two sessions: 1.1. The Spring session begins on the third Monday of January and ends at the end of July 1.2. The Annual session begins on the second Monday of September and ends at the end of December. 2. The Assembly, between the two sessions, can meet at the extraordinary” session, said by the Assembly.

It remains to be seen whether there will be any change in the situation over the days and weeks ahead, or we will have announced new elections. /Periscope/
