The news has confirmed on Telegrafi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspore (MPJD).
According to the MPJD, Spahiu was traveling by bus with his family on his return from Austria to Kosovo.
Shortly after receiving information about the ban, the Interconnection Office of the Republic of Kosovo in Serbia has submitted an official request to Serbian authorities through Serbia's Interconnection Office in Kosovo.
The request has been aimed at confirming the ban, offering clarifications on its legal basis, as well as informing Mr. Spahiu”, said in response to MPJD official, Fazliu Center.
Spahiu is currently being held at the Kanjiza detention centre in the Vojvodina region.
The Kosovo Liaison Office in Belgrade is in constant contact with its wife and is closely following developments.
He is expected to appear before the trial of the preliminary procedure on 9 June, at 09 o'clock, at the Kikinde Municipal Court.
MPJD has also announced that it has informed the European Union Delegation to Belgrade about the ban, and that it will continue to follow the case through diplomatic channels, keeping relevant institutions and international partners informed.
Lawyer Arian Koci has also reacted to this case, which through a Facebook post has revealed that he has committed himself to protecting Spahiu.
According to him, the same three years he has not been part of the Kosovo Police and lives in Germany, he has been questioned for the case “Banjska”.
This case is serious and is not isolated. Just days ago, another former police officer, Aleksandar Vlajik, has pleaded guilty to working for the Serbian secret service (BIA) and has been convicted of spying. This has proved that the Serbian BIA acted within Kosovo's territory and within its” security facilities, Koci wrote on Facebook.
Koci has said the ban on Arbnor Spahiu is looking like a direct response to this discovery, as it called this an effort to intimidate, punish and create uncertainty especially for those who once served in Kosovo security institutions.
“This is a clear signal for all Kosovo citizens: the transition through Serbia is not without risks. You know, a few days ago, an ex-deputate was banned. After hours of interrogation, he was released. I'm committed to protecting Arbnor with all legal means. But that's not enough”, he said. /Periscope/
