Health warnings and fires have been issued in southern European countries, with temperatures expected to exceed 40 degrees Celsius in some countries over the weekend.
Italy, Greece, France, Spain and Portugal are among the affected countries with the Spanish town of Seville, which is projected to reach 42 degrees Celsius today, the BBC writes.
The hot air from North Africa, which is spreading throughout the Balkans to holiday destinations like Croatia, is contributing to rising temperatures.
