Smaqi: Kurti will not respect the Constitutional Act, after 30 days the president will call parties to set the date of extraordinary elections

The Constitutional Court through an act of judgment published Thursday has ordered MPs to substitute the Parliament on a 30-day deadline today, writes Periscope.

Regarding today's Constitutional Court, the renowned Kosovo lawyer Jevdet Smakqi has been declared for Periscope.

Smakqi has told Periskopi that she does not believe Albin Kurti will implement this act, which, according to him, in 30 days if the decision is not respected, the president will call the parties for the appointment of extraordinary elections.

“ ...I don't believe Albin Kurti will be carrying out today's Constitutional Court Act, so the consequences are 30 days from now. From tomorrow 27.06.2025 to 27.07.2025, if the Assembly of Kosovo is not constitutionalised, the president of the Republic of Kosovo invites political parties to set the date of extraordinary elections. Which should not be the same as the date of local elections for logistical technical reasons that the CEC cannot effectively organise two parties of elections for a date. ”, he said.

According to the lawyer, this improvised impasse is the most anarchist masterpiece of Kurt, and that under it he will no longer have space to scoff at the values, principles, provisions, and constitutional deadlines.

“ ...this improvised jam of the living.  The Kosovo Parliament considers Albin Kurti's most anarchist masterpiece... therefore Albin Kurti as the blocker of the Kosovo Parliament's Constitution no longer has maneuvering space to ridicule values, provisions, constitutional deadlines...”, Smakqi told Periscope.

On the other hand, Smakqi stressed that the 30-day deadline has been binding since the first constitutional Senate.

“ ...I have reconsidered with professional law conviction that the provisions under 66 and 70 constitutional provisions, and the regulation of the Kosovo Assembly Article 7 and 12 have been clear as crystal, as the 30th deadline has been binding from the first constitutional session to complete the election of the Kosovo Assembly chairman and headship. Today's judgment is defined as crystal and that this 30-day binding term will be calculated by the Day of Publishing, the judgment that has been committed today...”, he added.

We remember yesterday the 37th session failed.
