According to an SBASK response, it is said that in the municipality of Vushtrri in recent days, demand for signing new labour contracts has resurfaced, despite pre-university education teachers already have work contracts indefinitely.
The SBASK says the version of the new contract is contrary to Administrative Guide 10/2015, which is in force and has less precise rights compared to contracts that pre-university education workers have.
The union has asked the municipality of Vushtrri to immediately halt this wrong practice and pressure on teachers”, as well as called on all other municipalities not to follow this, as it says, “a harmful example, which conflicts with the guaranteed rights of workers”.
“At the same time, we appeal to all our members who have contracts indefinitely, not to sign these new versions of the contracts, even if they feel pressured by employers”, the SBASAK said.
This union has said that any form of pressure to sign an unfavourable contract constitutes violations of the Code of Labour (Law No. 03 L-212, which may have legal consequences for the employer.
Any such case could and should be reported to the USShaK for institutional treatment”, the SBASAK said.
