Videos taken by students themselves show panic and horror, where youths confined to classrooms hear massive shootings coming from the front floors of school.
The author of the attack, identified as a 22-year-old former student, entered the attack and shot in two classes. The preliminary balance speaks of 10 dead and a high number seriously injured.
Local authorities confirm that the suspect was found dead in one of the school's bathrooms, with a self-caused gunshot wound.
The widely circulated images show traumad students, some crying, others communicating with their parents over the phone, while shootings are heard from outside.
Austrian media write that according to preliminary data the author had been a student at this school and allegedly faced harassment during the study years.
This is expected to be one of the tracks being investigated by police.
The area around the school was immediately placed in security perimeter, while numerous police forces, ambulances, and emergency teams arrived within minutes. Authorities set up two emergency centres for parents and relatives of students, while citizens were asked to avoid the area. /Periscope/
