Sismologist Edmond Dashi was this Friday invited to Euronews Albania to talk about earthquakes. A strong earthquake occurred two days ago in Tirana with a magnitude of 4.4, while today there were two consequences of lower magnitudes.
According to the European Mediterranean seismological Centre EMSC the 4.1 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale was the most epic in the Fushe-Kruja area.
The seismologist said that given the history of earthquakes, there are expected to be additional 18-20 days after the main earthquake.
We have all-intensive statistics on the entire territory. All the earthquake series occurring in western areas of the country lasts more than earthquakes in the central area. This is an indication that we will have an ongoing extension of this series of earthquakes. Without spreading panic, based on the data that we actually have if we do the calculations we can count to 18-20 days by the main earthquake of the 24”, the seismologist said./Periscopi/
