Security workers at the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo (QKUK), about 260 of them, have been terminated, while interim director Osman Hajdari refused to discuss with them in the presence of the media. He said Kosovo Police would cover physical security until the completion of procedures for the new contract.
“doesn't deal with manipulu you like the media and nobody. We as QKUK had a negotiated contract for physical security workers. OSHP, after two months, has brought a decision requiring QKUK to terminate the contract. As director, of course we are obliged to comply with the OSEP decision and I have given the company a deadline by June 21st. During this period, he has filed complaints with the commercial court, the court has asked us to impose temporary measures and with the indictment he filed by the company. So far I have no court ruling. During this time, we had another contract. I've asked the police to stay until a new contract. From now on, the police have to place their key points on how you see them covered. What I'm managing is that the QKUK has physical security from the Kosovo Police, so we're not without physical insurance. From the moment that there's no contract for a company, neither do I, as director, have the right to stay at KKUK. Kosovo Police have been deployed. The new negotiating contract is under way, tomorrow we have a contract signed with an operator. Until the new contract is finalised, Kosovo Police will secure security at QKUK,” said Osmani.
Meanwhile, the head of the union at QKUK, Hakif Sylejmani, expressed concern for workers who have been vulnerable and untrained.
I've had all my employees at risk at points. We without contract can't be at work, offer us a guarantee that these workers will continue to work. QKUK is a senior institution, and workers are out of uniform. That's odd,” highlighted Sylejmani.
Independent Private Sector Union Chairman Yusuf Azemi said workers will stay home until the new contract is signed, naming the situation as a result of the company's interests.
“Today is a different time that our institutions, when contracts have expired, workers have worked without contract. All those workers will stay at home until the contract is made. We already don't want to serve anyone, that's individual interest, companies are pushing together. We have made the decision that all workers will not stay until the new contract with workers is signed.”, Azemi added.
