US Secretary of Defense: The U.S. Army is willing to implement every Trump decision on Iran

The US Army is ready to implement any decision President Donald Trump can make regarding Iran, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Wednesday, suggesting that the US goal could become clearer in the coming days. Witnessing before a Senate committee, Hegseth [...]
Witnessing before a Senate committee, Hegseth was very cautious in his public statements, refusing to say whether the Pentagon has prepared options for attacks on Iran.
However, when asked by the lawmaker, he acknowledged that he is willing to apply any order regarding Iran and warned that Tehran should have heard Trump's call to deal with the nuclear programme before Israel began air strikes Friday.
They should have made a deal, the word of President Trump is heavy. The world understands that. And, in the Department of Defense, our job is to be ready and prepared with options and that's exactly what we're doing, hegseth said before the Senate Armed Forces Committee.
Earlier Wednesday, Trump did not answer journalists' questions about whether the United States will attack Iran or its nuclear facilities, but said his patience has ceased.
Speaking near the White House, Trump reiterated his call for Iran's “unconditional surrender”.
I can do it, I may not. I mean, no one knows what I'm going to do”, Trump told reporters when he was asked if he had decided to launch the bombing against Iran.
Trump said Iran had even hinted that it wants to send its officials to the White House to negotiate Tehran's nuclear programme and stop Israel's air strikes, but added that “is too late”.
Israel launched shellings against Iran last Friday, and on Wednesday the Israeli Army said it has also carried out attacks in western Iran, hitting missile depots and a packed rocket launcher.
Israel has hit several nuclear and military objects, killing senior generals and nuclear scientists.
Iran has launched around 400 rockets and hundreds are wary of revenge attacks on Israel ever since. / REL/ Periscopi/
