Russia launches return of 1,212 Ukrainian troops

Russia has handed over the first 1,212-strong group of Ukrainian soldiers, in the implementation of the humanitarian agreement reached between the parties on 2 June in Istanbul. “In strict compliance with the agreements, the Russian side has handed over the troops of Ukrainian soldiers prepared for repatriation in the exchange zone,” declared Zorin, adding that troops have been identified through uniforms and location of the find.
He announced that trains with lifeless bodies will head towards the border in an hour and that more than 6,000 Ukrainian troops are ready to return home in the next phase of the deal.
Zorn stressed that this is a purely humanitarian and not political act, while awaiting confirmation from the Ukrainian side to proceed with action next week. /Periscopi/
