Russia launched one of its biggest air strikes in Kiev in more than three years of war and hit a maternity ward in the southern town of Odessa in attacks that killed at least three people, officials said Tuesday.
The night attacks followed Russia's biggest intimidation attack during the war in Ukraine on Monday and were part of intensified bombings in what Moscow calls revenge for Ukrainian forces' attacks on Russia.
Russian attack also damaged St Sofia's Cathedral, a site of U's World Heritage NESTO, located in Kiev's historic centre, said Ukrainian Culture Minister Mykola Tochytskyi, reports Reuters, broadcast Periscope.

Strong explosions shook Kiev and explosions, and fires lit up the sky in the early hours of Tuesday's morning, leaving intense smoke over the city, Reuters witnesses said. Authorities deployed two fire helicopters to extinguish the flames.
One person died in the attack on Kiev, the city authorities said. /Periscope
