Russian President Vladimir Putin has voiced concern about increasing global danger from conflicts, citing the possibility of a Third World War. His statement was made during the International Economic Forum in St Petersburg, where he stressed that the potential for major clashes is increasing significantly, Reuters reports.
Yeah, it's disturbing. I'm talking without irony and no kidding. There's a lot of potential for conflict and it's growing. This is happening in front of our eyes and directly affects”, Putin said.
In his speech, he cited some of the hottest points of current tensions, including Russia's war in Ukraine, clashes between Israel and Iran, as well as the complex situation around Iranian nuclear facilities, where Russia is building two new nuclear reactors in co-operation with Tehran.
Putin added that the situation requires great attention and serious commitment to finding solutions.
This requires not only careful attention to developments happening, but also the search for solutions, preferably, peaceful, in all directions”, he said. /Periscope/
