Pula criticises the Constitutional Court: He offered no solution for the crisis in the Assembly

Political Affairs Editor Shqirim Pula has reacted to the Kosovo Constitutional Court's recent decision regarding the blocking of the Parliament's constitutional session, praising that this institution has failed to fulfil its fundamental role in protecting the Constitution and offering solutions to the parliamentary stalemate. In a public reaction, Pula [...]
In a public response, Pula says the Court's decision has not produced even valid jurisdiction, nor has it helped unblock the work of the Assembly. He stresses that this indictment does not offer clarity to MPs, addresses alleged violations, and does not meet any of the functions expected by a constitutional court in such cases.
The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo did not defend the Constitution, instructed MPs as to how to act, enabled the functioning of the Assembly, addressed no violations, and chose not the stalemate,” wrote Pula on Facebook.
He recalls developments in the April 15th session, when the process of choosing the Parliament's leadership remained unfinished, following an unexpected change in voting procedure from an open-up vote to a secret one that led to boycott by some MPs.
According to Pula, a group of deputies addressed the Court 12 May with questions related to the way the session is directed and the compliance of MPs holding executive posts. But the Court, although accepting the request, did not provide a fundamental answer.
The trial did not address the conflict of interest, did not give a clear interpretation of the compliance of functions, nor did it offer concrete solutions for the completion of the constitutional session,”, he writes.
Pula criticises the fact that the KO124/25 act only sets a 30-day deadline for the end of the session, without presuming what happens if the blockade continues.
To sum up, he declares: the Constitutional Court with justice did not judge!”, underlining that the decision is flawed and incomplete in content and influence. /Periscope/
