According to a report by Kosovo Police, it becomes known that on 3 June, following the acceptance of operational cargo smuggling information, police authorities have contacted the Prosecution Prosecutor in Gjilan. On his orders, a search has been conducted in a house and escort facilities on the territory of the municipality of Gjilan.
During the check, large quantities of processed and market - willing tobacco of various brands, weighing over 600 pounds [600 kg], have been found.
According to the first estimates, goods are allegedly illegally introduced into Kosovo through unauthorized roads. The total value of goods on the market amounts to about 12,000 euros, while avoiding customs duties totals up to 30,000 euros.
The goods have been seized and sent to the customs terminal for further legal procedures. The case is being handled by competent Kosovo Police units, and investigations are under way.
Kosovo police reiterate their commitment to prevent and fight any form of smuggling and invite citizens to report suspicious cases. /Periscope/
