Kosovo police have pronounced a ticket to Serbian activist Stefan Veljkovic in the north, after he refused to implement the police order during the activities of incumbent Interior Minister Jelal Svechla.
Police Deputy Director for the Northern Region Veton Elshani confirmed for the Time that Veljkovic has accepted medical treatment for injuries suffered.
Veljkovic physically clashed with the minister's defence and carried a whistle as a sign of civil protest against policies that, according to him, are oppressing the Serb community in northern Mitrovica. He claimed that he was hit and damaged by members of the police in civilian clothes, while the entire event was recorded by telephone.
The Activist said the protest was against the seizure of property and the unfair treatment he is applying to Serbs by Kosovo authorities.
“Citizens informed us that Kurti, Svecla and Gazmend Hoxha (Kosovo Police Director) came to boast in northern Mitrovica, as anti-Serb policies are being implemented. Apartments, houses and land are being confiscated, people being oppressed, children being held in custody. I came with a whistle as a sign of civil protest”, he declared.
They hit me in the head, they tore my shirt, they hit me in the tooth and jaw. Everything was recorded on my phone”, he added to the Kossev medium./Periscopi/
