The British survivor of the Air India plane accident has described the horror he experienced when he saw people “die in front of his face”.
Vishwash Kumar Ramesh said he thought he was dead when the plane crashed into a building, but then he realized he was alive and managed to escape from the ruins.
Speaking from the hospital bed, 40-year-old told the DD News channel that the plane “looked like it was stuck in the air” right after the lift, before the lights started blinking green and white.
The Boeing 787 Dreamlinker crashed into a medical college Thursday, killing 241 other people on board.
This is one of the deadliest accidents for British citizens and the first to include a 787 - type plane.
Ramesh said: “I still don't believe I survived. For a moment I thought I would die, but when I opened my eyes and looked around, I realized that I was still alive. I still can't believe I survived. ”
He told the broadcaster: “When the plane got up, within 550 seconds it looked like it was trapped in the air. Suddenly, lights began to pulse green and white.
The plane was not rising and slipping into the air until it crashed into a building and exploded. At first I thought I was dead. Later I realized that I was still alive and saw an opening in the body of the plane. I freed myself from my belt, used my leg to postpone the opening, and dragged out. I don't know how I survived, he said.

The site was visited Friday by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and on film footage is seen talking to Ramesh at the hospital.

Investigations into causes of the accident are still under way.
