Five people arrested in Rugova in Gjakova, weapons seized

Five people have been arrested and weapons seized following police response to information for gun shooting in the village of Rogova in Gjakova.

“Police station in Gjakova, on May 31st, 2025, has accepted information about shooting gunfire in the village of Rogova, the Gjakova municipality. The event is suspected to have happened around 10:00. Shortly after the information was accepted, the relevant police units, including police patrols and Investigation Sectors, have been launched into the scene and in full co-ordination with the competent prosecutor, have undertaken necessary operational and investigative actions, with cases being conducted in that location. ”

More precisely during the search have been found and seized as material evidence:

• Two automatic weapons,

• A hunting rifle,

• A pistol,

• 463 bullets of different calibres and

• Some shells.

Suspects have been detained for 48 hours.

“As a result of this operation, 5 (5) suspected men of adulthood who were interviewed in the presence of their lawyers have been arrested. Under the State Prosecutor's decision, the suspects have been pronounced the 48-hour police ban, while cases have been initiated in line with criminal legislation in effect. ”/Periscopi/
