The PDK raises the alarm for non-partial budget for elections: Election Operations at Risk

CEC member Ilir Gashi of PDK at the meeting held Tuesday raised concern over the lack of the budget for the election process.

“I have a question for you, time is running out and budget has not yet been approved by the government, and I think you need to communicate, because quick budget disapproval risks some election operations, especially in the diaspora section. Failure to split the budget in time could jeopardise the realisation of these” operations, Gashi said.

CEC member from the VV, Alban Krasniqi, said it is not true that the government has not split the budget and that additional budgetary requirements have not been planned by the CEC itself.

It is not true that the government has not allocated the budget. For all the cases we've had, the government has divided them. The issue is additional budgetary requirements, which we ourselves as an institution have not planned. On the other hand, we need to seek additional budgets. We've been applying for a week. As long as we ask the institutions, we should also ask ourselves to do our jobs, of course other institutions we expect them to perform”, Krasniqi said, conveys eo.

The controversy between the two members continued, with Gashi stressing that Krasniqi is acting as the government's spokesman.

I've been asking questions here. I'm treating it as a concern. You are not a spokesman for the government”, Gashi said.

Krasniqi reacted by saying public dezination is under way over the budget issue.

The government didn't split the budget. I need you to accept that the public is disinformed. The government has been sharing this budget since last year. With certain media that you have, you have disinformed the public”, Krasniqi responded. /Periscope/
