In a Facebook post, The PDK emphasises that the agreement signed on June 9th 1999 ended the war in Kosovo and banned genocide committed by Slobodan Milosevic's criminal regime against the Albanian people.
It was the culmination of an extraordinary effort by our people and the great sacrifice of the Kosovo Liberation Army, which courageously and faithfully made the impossible possible.
This crucial moment opened the way for the establishment of peace and security in Kosovo through the fair intervention of NATO, which banned crimes, saved lives and defended the dignity of an entire people. The contribution of NATO member states was crucial to this joint victory for freedom.
Forever grateful to our international allies, and in particular to the United States of America, who stayed close to us then and continue to support us on the path of consolidating the state, strengthening democracy and Euro-Atlantic integration”, the PDK wrote further on Facebook.
