Parliament remains in crisis, parties hard to find compromise

The meeting between political leaders, where the topic was overcoming political stalemate, ended without success as 38 of the constitutional sessions, Periscope reports.

For more than two hours, as long as this meeting lasted, the Vetevendosje Movement, the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, NISMA and other non-US parties came out without a solution to the institutional crisis.

Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti has spoken after meeting with political parties for finding solutions from the Kong block.

Kurti, ahead of reporters, indicated he has given two proposals for exits from the institutional crisis.

The first”compromis was that in the event of the vacuum vote, if it doesn't get 61 votes, it withdraws. She doesn't want to be voted twice by secret voting, so we moved into the situation before Thursday when the Constitutional Act was issued. The second compromise was that let's make a policy deal about the Constitutional Court's t67 article, which is a political agreement in a package for the chairman and vice president, and if they don't want the secret vote let their representatives delegate to the alleged vote, which they can tear down by vote.

Let the others delegate, and we are bringing down that commission with the joint vote following the political dispute so that the office and vice president can be voted in package”, Kurti said.

He added that both proposals have been rejected by the PDK and the LDK.

Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Memli Krasniqi has named the event the chairman of the Vetevendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, for exiting the parliamentary crisis following the Constitutional Court's decision.

Krasniqi has estimated that the meeting has resulted in unsuccessful.

“The meeting that Kurt was invited to act out a commitment the Constitutional Court's act of accountability and responsibility for finding compromise resulted in unsuccessful because the situation is the same, but Kurt is the same”, he said.

Krasniqi has complained in the Vetevendosje Movement's stance on the commission's vote for a secret vote for the election of the prime minister.

He has said that if the commission is voted for a secret vote the next day, MPs will commit clear constitutional violations.

Democratic League of Kosovo Chairman Lumir Abdixhiku has said that at the meeting called by VV head Albin Kurti, it called for political consensus to be reached to overcome the institutional stalemate.

Abdixhiku said he demanded that the right to be granted the right to vote for, against or abstained for candidates proposed and said that on behalf of the LDK, they would vote against him by 20 votes for the candidate who would propose the VV.

“in this period they have placed an obstacle that is the secret procedure, which in the Constitutional Court's decision becomes clear that it is not constitutional, it is unprecedented in Kosovo's parliamentary history, so we cannot participate in violating the Constitution after this accord”.

“Call once again to give us the right to vote. The deputies of the Church are right. While insisting on a procedure that is unconstitutional now, we are being unable to afford the right to vote”, Obadiah said.

On the other hand, he said the VV for the speaker of the assembly has 3 votes from the Initiative and 3 other names from the AAK, which, according to Abdixhik, is likely to find a solution but the “willpower is a matter of political orientation”.

AAK MP Time Kadrijaj has said that the Constitutional Court has given their subject the right, so she hopes the VV will not proceed with the vote of the secret commission and violation of the Constitution.
