The Kosovo Economic Oda (OEK) has announced that, together with other private sector representatives, it has addressed incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti, in the latest global developments envisioning increased electricity prices.
OEK through a media report has demanded that the Government of Kosovo take action to support the private sector, Periscopi reports.
Keeping in mind that many European state governments have already taken immediate measures to protect their economies through subsidies and direct support for businesses, we demand that the Government of Kosovo also follow this example and take concrete action in support of the private sector”, the report said.
OEK has also asked the Government of Kosovo to ask ZRE to cancel its free market decision.
“In this context, the Kosovo Economic Oda requires the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to subsidise the private sector and ask the ZRE to cancel the decision to exit the free energy market, with the aim of protecting local production, businesses, citizens and the country's economy”, the report said.
