NATO member states leaders will meet in the Netherlands today and tomorrow for the NATO summit in The Hague.
Their agenda for discussion is the plan to increase defence spending, but leaders have also discussed the situation in the Middle East, CNN writes.
Downing Street says that at a meeting between United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, leaders “re-reflected on the unstable situation in the Middle East” and agreed that it is now “koha for diplomacy and that Iran sits at the negotiating table”.
Summit is first NATO and US President Donald Trump since 2019 and the 32 leaders are determined to commit to spending 5% of national production for protection and relevant infrastructure./Periscopi/
