American correspondent Lauren Thomas was shot in the leg with a rubber bullet by a police officer who was making guards in downtown, reports 9News.
It happened on the third day of violent protests that erupted in the second most populated US city in response to numerous arrests of illegal immigrants.
Thomas was hit as he reported directly near the first line of protests surrounding the city's Metropolitan detention centre.
One of the officers pointed a gun at Thomas and shot him closely.
