German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has declared that the Iranian regime is significantly weakened and the “will most likely no longer return to the force it once had”.
Comments were made during an interview for German broadcaster Welt, at the G7 summit in Canada.
According to him, Iran's future remains uncertain, especially in conditions of escalation of the conflict with Israel.
“We need to wait and see how events will take place,” said Merz, It quotes SkyNews.
He also stressed that bids for diplomatic assistance from European countries remain valid, if talks resume.
If a new situation occurs, Germany, France and the UK will again be ready to offer diplomatic mediation, as they have been until last Thursday, the Chancellor added./Periscopi/
