Speaking at the UN Conference on Oceans in the French city of Nice, according to The Telegraph, Macro has expressed himself:
The deep ocean is not for sale, nor is Greenland or Antarctica. ”
Macro's statements come shortly before his visit to Greenland, which French officials describe as a symbolic gesture of support to Danish autonomous territory.
We remember that since Trump's return to the White House, he has repeatedly expressed a desire to get Greenland's idea that has been flatly rejected by Denmark and local authorities. Greenland has been part of Denmark since the 18th century and has self-ruled since 1979.
Also according to foreign media, a January survey has shown that 85% of Greenland's citizens oppose any idea of joining the US. Greenland's Prime Minister Jens-Frederic Nielsen has, in March, called on European countries to support the stance that Greenland “is not and will never be for sale”, adding:
And the Greenlandian people will never change.”/Periscope/
