A lifeless body has been found on the river Khurbin by a local fisherman.
Albanian police have surrounded the area and the body extraction is seeking help from the divers, reports A2 CNN. The heavy event occurred today not far from the center of the city of Elbasan, where a lifeless body has been discovered on the river Shkumbin, near the area of the New Katund.
The body was accidentally ascertained by an amateur fisherman who immediately informed the surrounding residents and then the authorities. According to sources from the site, the corpse is currently located in the area near the former Metalurge, a difficult territory to reach and with limited access. Shortly after the announcement, numerous police forces have arrived at the scene and surrounded the perimeter, halting citizens' entry into the area to ensure safety and preservation of evidence.
To get the body out of the river, assistance has been required of the divers and the Elbasan fire service, which are in effect to enable body withdrawal and transport to the morgue of the regional hospital.
Until forensic expertise is carried out, there is still no information on identity, age or gender of the victim. Whether an accidental drowning or a criminal - motivated event is unknown. /Periscopi/
